According to many historians, EDSA I is that episode in our history when democracy is restored and sanity returned to the Philippines. As to the first, I still make reservations whether democracy in its basic sense was really restored. As to the second, I say that the subsequent administration is an attempt of families who collaborated with the Japanese to clear their names.

Let’s go back to history. During the short and brutal occupation where tens of thousands of people died and countless women were rape, the top collaborators were President Jose Laurel and Vice-President Benigno Aquino Sr, grandfather of Incompetent Noynoy. They ruled while thousands more were killed by their Japanese allies. Based on the testimonies presented by Laurel and Aquino, they collaborated to “prevent more deaths” and their collaboration resulted to “stopping unnecessarily killings”. Wrong! Laurel and Aquino never stopped killings but they actually promoted it to “purge the land of elements inimical to the best interest of Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere”.

The first victims of the war were high-ranking members of the old party, and who are opposed to the Laurel-Aquino collaboration. This is a natural effect because the Japanese must appease their puppets and make sure that their puppets are satisfied. Occupation is a two-way process where the masters and puppets observe a mutual relationship. Everyone opposed to the puppets including the original puppet enemies must perish for the new system to work. This happened in the Dutch East Indies, British Malaya, and South Korea – See noynoy incompetence.

Look at EDSA I. You have another Aquino-Laurel presidency, this time it is reversed. Doy Laurel is a descendant of Japanese puppet Jose Laurel, while Cory Aquino is the wife of Ninoy, son of the second-highest collaborator. Instead of reversing the evils of their ancestors, they showed animosity towards the prosecutors of their ancestors and people who branded Jose Laurel evil. As a reward, they even changed the history books thought in public elementary schools and removed any indication that the father of the hero Ninoy is a traitor – See noynoy incompetency. What do you think Noynoy will do next?
