Our Mission
Lady Tigers Fast Pitch Softball will dedicate the promotion of fast pitch softball in the Metropolitan area. We will create an environment for young ladies to learn confidence, and integrity to compete through youth sports. Our coaches will keep the young girls involved in this process which will make them grow into responsible and contributing adults in our community.
One of our primary goals of our organization is the promotion of girls’ fast pitch softball. Our purpose is to accomplish the development of the girls and as they move up in years help them with a seamless transition from high school into the college of their choice. We will not only develop athletic skills and increase the opportunities for collegiate athletic scholarships but also to foster a foundation of self-esteem, respect for others, leadership and self-discipline which will empower these athletes to mature into productive, successful adults who will give back to the community through service and volunteerism.
Our membership will comprise of girls from Staten Island, New Jersey and Brooklyn. The teams will travel to various sites on the east coast to compete in tournaments.
We believe that this program will generate interest and meet with a good deal of success mainly due to the commitment of the coaches, Board of Directors, parents, sponsors, athletes, and our academic relationships,
Our Cause
We will help them comprise their Academic and Extra Curriculum Profile, along with their presentation video of their positions to be submitted to the colleges of their choice. Our Athletic Department will help recruit them to the colleges of their choice. It is a priority that our Athletic Department will be represented by an individual with a long-standing history with a long athletic training and sports rehab history. The individual that has been selected is Ivan Candeleria, A.T.C. He will be our Director of Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Training and will be overseeing a staff of strength and conditioning and sports rehab coaches. Ivan received a professional degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training at the University of Connecticut. He is thoroughly involved in the treatment and rehabilitation of injured NCAA women and men’s national championship teams. The individual and staff has worked with collegiate and a number of our country's finest professional athletes who currently perform in the NBA, WNBA, MLB, MLS and high school and collegiate football. Ivan has been focused on providing Athletic Training services to fast pitch softball travel organizations as well as to local High Schools. In addition to providing athletic training, they offer experienced rehabilitation to injured and Post-operative athletes. The efforts are primarily geared toward giving the high school athletes the opportunity to experience rehabilitation of their injury at a comfortable and professional level. The success in the treatment of various injuries is primarily based on strength and conditioning principles. There will be a facility that is designed and well equipped to meet each individual athlete's needs. The goals for each of these athletes are for them to become a stronger, smarter and, most importantly, pain free athlete. They will work hand and hand with professional educators whom will be retained to work with our organization to help those student athletes who will need the assistance to make sure that their academics are in order for them to be able to proceed to a college of their choice with the opportunity to play softball there.
We plan on having fundraisers with women orientated companies, i.e. cosmetic, accessories, etc. to raise money for the organization and to help promote Women Cancer Awareness through women sports. Being a cancer survivor I saw this as a platform in front of the right audience to raise awareness of these issues to help others like myself through women sports. For strength, unity and growth to better help women of tomorrow.
